I was briefed to design the backdrop for Lizzo's closing show at Art Basel Miami, commissioned by American Express. I was assigned the text ‘Breathe bitch’ for the zen interlude, a moment of stillness amid the vibrant spectacle of the performance. Rather than playing it soft, I made it neon! The piece was inspired by the Neon graveyard in Las Vegas, a resting place for retired signs that somehow still glow. Bold type, luminous colour, and a quiet irreverence, a visual exhale that matched the moment perfectly.
